Greater Falls
Greater Falls is a dynamic neighbourhood shaped by its industrial roots, cultural revival, and evolving identity. It balances a strong community ethos rooted in Irish language and heritage with ongoing regeneration and development. Well-served by public transport and schooling, it remains mindful of lingering social challenges and safety concerns—yet continues progressing toward a revitalised and vibrant future.
Upper Springfield
Upper Springfield, located in West Belfast and flanked by the Black Mountain, is a tight-knit community deeply rooted in heritage, culture, and collective resilience
Upper Andersonstown
Andersonstown is situated at the bottom of the Black Mountain and Divis Mountain and contains a mixture of public and private housing.
The area expanded during the 1950s and 1960s as a significant number of families were re-housed during the redevelopment of the Lower Falls area. More families moved into the area with the start of the troubles. Many of these families had to leave their homes in other parts of the city due to intimidation and civil conflict. Andersonstown was viewed as comparatively safe, as it was a predominantly nationalist area and not on any interface.
The area has five nursery schools, four primary schools and four post-primary schools.
Lenadoon – Léana An Dúin
Lenadoon is a suburb in Belfast, known for its strong community spirit and clean environment. The area is undergoing a community-led transformation plan aimed at addressing key issues such as health and wellbeing, education, and housing, with a focus on creating a wellbeing hub and developing educational programs. Historically, Lenadoon has been significant in the Troubles, with the Battle of Lenadoon occurring in 1972, highlighting its historical importance. The community is also recognised for its friendly atmosphere and dog-friendly parks, making it a pleasant place to live.

It has a population of almost 30,000 people and is comprised of four distinct areas – Twinbrook, Poleglass, Lagmore and Kilwee. A large portion of Colin falls under the Department of Social Development’s designated Neighbourhood Renewal Area.
